Karen joined the board of Into Your Hands Africa in 2018. She has practiced law in Denver since 1986, specializing in representing and advising employers. Karen currently serves as Co-Chair of the Denver Career Service Authority Board. She has long been interested in issues of poverty and homelessness. She co-founded a legal services program for The Gathering Place in 1988 and continues to provide pro bono legal services to clients through that program. Karen was a member of the Governing Board of The Gathering Place for six years and served as Chair in 2008. She has served as a guardian ad litem for children in domestic violence cases since 2010. Karen has recently enjoyed volunteering for Project C.U.R.E., and just completed her first medical mission trip to Panama.
Karen lives in Denver with her husband, Steve, two of their five children, and their two dogs.
