Since 2007, Into Your Hands Africa has been a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and families to rise above the constraints of poverty through education and business development. 100% of your gift will towards impacting those most in need.
As a small nonprofit organization, volunteers are vital to the mission and work of IYHA. Volunteer positions may vary from one-time events or ongoing support based on your availability and interest. Last year, our volunteers put in over 310 hours of support, an equivalent of $5,369!
We are looking for individuals with experience in marketing, fundraising, volunteer engagement, or monitoring and evaluation. Or someone who feels that their competencies match one or more of the below organizational projects:
If our mission aligns with your passion, there are many opportunities to learn more about our work or get connected through one of our internship programs. Our internships are designed to provide you with a positive learning opportunity and practical work experience.
Join us in Uganda! Are you looking for an opportunity to live more generously? If so, this is the perfect trip for you! At Into Your Hands Africa, we are passionate about empowering Ugandans who live in the communities we serve. It is with this in mind that we host annual Insight Trips to Uganda. Join us to witness first-hand how the organization’s work has impacted Ugandan families and communities to break the cycle of poverty. Come and meet your student, family or female entrepreneur. Visit their home and family. The trip cost is $1,500 per person to cover expenses. Price excludes airfare, vaccinations, Ugandan visa, African safari and two dinners while in Uganda. Everything else is included! Email Kristy Hitchings at Kristy@intoyourhandsafrica.org to learn more or to reserve your spot today! A one-day gorilla trekking excursion may also be added to your itinerary.
A final word: While we’re doing our best to plan with the assumption that by then, we will be able to travel to Uganda, however we are mindful that the current pandemic and/or a future outbreak may deter these efforts and that the trip may be deferred or cancelled.
When you consider whether or not you would like to go on the trip, keep in mind that it is strenuous and that you will need to have vaccinations prior to departure. We recommend you speak with your doctor on whether or not a trip of this nature is best for you.
While many organizations depend on an influx of foreign workers and investment, we know that communities want to create value and improve their own circumstances – we help them start that journey.
